Join us for the Fall Fair Glass Pumpkin Patch Fundraiser

Open Door Exchange is incredibly ecstatic to host a Fall Fair Glass Pumpkin Patch Fundraiser during the last weekend of September at Setauket Presbyterian Church!

From Friday September 27 to Sunday September 29, from 10AM-5PM, this festive event will showcase over hundreds of whimsical, vibrantly colored glass pumpkins handmade by Gregory Tomb, a nationally acclaimed glass artist known for his unique, intricate designs. These one-of-a-kind works of art will be available for purchase.

Proceeds support Open Door Exchange (ODE) Furniture Bank, connecting gently used furniture to people in need, in crisis or in a life transition at no cost. ODE has supported homeless clients, domestic violence survivors, cancer survivors, veterans and more.

There will be family fun activities each day!

Artist Gregory Tomb has been fascinated by glass art since childhood, when road trips with his family would often include visits to the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, N.Y. After studying glassblowing as an art student at Hartwick College, Greg gained precision working as a production glass blower in a factory for world-renowned glass maker Simon Pearce.

He moved to California, and worked for Girl Glass, Chris Johnson Glass, Half Moon Bay Art Glass and The Bay Area Glass Institute. Gregory Tomb has been awarded “best in glass” and served as the featured artist at the Nassau County Museum of Art, the Hampton Fine Art Festival, the Stuart Art Festival and the Scottsdale Artfest. His colorful creations have also been featured in numerous museums and magazines nationwide.

In 2017, he built his own mobile glass studio to use for the winter in Scottsdale, AZ. During the summers, he returns to Upstate New York, and he is honored to be the Artist-in-Residence for the town of Johnsburg in the Adirondacks. Greg also operates Arizona Glassblowing Studio as the Artist-in-Residence of the Hilton Phoenix Resort at the Peak. Holiday Mattress Fundraiser

At Open Door Exchange, our most needed items are mattresses. Many of our guests find themselves sleeping on the floor because they cannot afford a mattress. We strive to provide clean and comfortable mattresses so that no one ever has to lose a good night's sleep.

Each year, we hold our Annual Mattress Fundraiser in December to raise money to buy new twin mattresses. These mattresses are distributed to people in need throughout the year.

Last year we raised over $6,000 to purchase mattresses! Thank you so much for your generous donations!
