The Outreach Operations Manager oversees the critical day-to-day management of the Open Door Exchange warehouse, including client intake, scheduling, and outreach. This position requires on-site work as well as the ability to comfortably lift 40-50 lbs.
This is a full-time position for 40 hours per week. The salary range for this position is $50k-55k commensurate with experience. Benefits are included.
Responsibilities:
Client Coordination

Serve as the primary contact person for Open Door Exchange (ODE) clients, volunteers, caseworkers, and community stakeholders. This includes responding to emails, phone calls, text messages, and social media messages regarding people in need of furniture.

Schedule client appointments and conduct appropriate follow-up to ensure successful pick-up of selected furniture pieces.

Conduct intake and needs assessment for clients in partnership with ODE volunteers with the goal of connecting people in need to high quality furniture pieces.

Coordinate with external community organizations to make the appropriate referrals for any client needs that do not fall within the service capacity of ODE.
Community Outreach

Target outreach to local companies, social service agencies, nonprofits, and organizations to expand our client base.

Attend in-person community events such as volunteer fairs, resource fairs, and coalition meetings to spread awareness about Open Door Exchange’s mission.

Design both digital/physical outreach content to establish a community presence and expand ODE’s network of clients, donors, and volunteers.

Manage ODE’s social media accounts (Facebook and Instagram)
Organizational Management

Schedule volunteers to cover weekday and Saturday hours at the ODE warehouse.

Attend biweekly Saturday morning furniture donation pickups, providing supervision and guidance to a team of 6-8 volunteers.

Facilitate monthly ODE volunteer meetings and provide updates on warehouse operations.

Attend ODE Steering Committee meetings as needed.

Responsible for the following information being inputted to the online database: Client Contacts, Outgoing Furniture Opportunities

Assist with planning of fundraisers in partnership with the ODE Steering Committee and volunteers.
Qualifications:

Superior organizational and time management skills
-
Superior communication skills (oral, written, and listening).

2-3 years experience working within a social services setting is highly preferred.

Office management and computer skills essential, including fluency with Excel, Google docs, Canva, and Salesforce.

Lived experience working within the Long Island community and knowledge of local resources.

Ability to comfortably lift 40-50 lbs.

Ability and willingness to interact respectfully with a diversity of people in a variety of settings (clients, volunteers, community leaders, students, etc.)

Ability to attract, build, motivate, and support involvement in these outreach programs
