A gift of $25 could help us pay the electric bill on our warehouse. A gift of $60 could fill the gas tank on our truck. A gift of $88 is enough to purchase a mattress and box spring for a child in need of a bed. And $2000 would cover the rent on our warehouse for one month. Any amount you can contribute is critical to sustaining this program and truly, truly appreciated.

The most requested item by those we serve is a mattress. We do not accept or redistribute used mattresses, but we maintain a fund to purchase new mattresses for families in need of beds.
We believe that furniture is an often-overlooked essential for people who are seeking stability and a better future. Furniture allows a family to eat together sitting at a table. Furniture gives children a place to do homework. Furniture provides the opportunity to invite guests into one’s home. Furniture is necessary for a good night’s sleep. Too many families on Long Island are living in homes without the most basic furniture, and many people have furniture to share. Through one open door into another equals good environmental stewardship!
We accept donations of basic household furniture in good condition. The furniture we collect goes directly to individuals and families in need, many of whom are transitioning out of homelessness, military service, or displacement following a disaster.
To donate by check, you can write a check to "Setauket Presbyterian Church" with "ODE" in the memo line and send it to: Open Door Exchange, c/o Setauket Presbyterian Church, 5 Caroline Ave., Setauket, NY 11733. If you would like to designate the donation for our mattress fund, simply write "ODE Mattresses" in the memo line.
Founded in January 2015, we are an outreach program of the Setauket Presbyterian Church that seeks to redistribute good quality furniture to those in need.
